Explore its narrow passageways and towers before continuing to nearby Ouarzazate, the “Door of the Desert,” where you’ll spend the night.

Set off on one of the most scenic days of the journey, heading east toward the Sahara. Along the way, you’ll pass through the Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon with towering rock walls rising up to 300 meters — a dramatic natural wonder and a great stop for photos or a short walk. Continuing on, you’ll pass through Erfoud, a gateway town known for its fossil trade, before reaching the golden dunes of the desert as afternoon turns to evening.
