TheBeginning
Our founder, Hassan, was born into a Berber nomadic family in southeastern Morocco. Until the age of ten, home wasn’t a fixed address — it was wherever the family’s herds could graze. Life moved with the rhythm of the land, and livestock was everything: their income, their security, their way of life.
But the desert is unforgiving. When the rains stopped coming, so did the grass their animals depended on. Survival meant change.
The Desert does not grow trees, but The ambition and will grow in it
Roots in the Sand
Rather than continue a life that had become unsustainable, Hassan’s parents made a bold decision: settle down. Alongside other nomadic families who had shared their desert life for years, they built a village from nothing — digging wells by hand, turning barren land into farmland, and starting over.
For nearly a decade, that hard work paid off. Then the water disappeared again.
A New Beginning in Village
Undeterred, the family moved once more — this time to Sidi Ali, a small village on the edge of the Sahara that was beginning to draw travelers from around the world, drawn by golden dunes and the promise of a night under desert stars.
With a few camels and a lot of determination, Hassan’s family began organizing camel treks and overnight desert stays for visitors. It was here that a new chapter began — one built not on livestock, but on hospitality.
Growing Up Between School and the Sahara
Thanks to schools the Moroccan government had built for children of nomadic families, Hassan was able to study while working alongside his family in the growing tourism business. He became a tour guide even before finishing his education, learning the craft of storytelling and hospitality firsthand — one guest, one journey at a time.
From a Family Trade to a National Company
What started as camel rides in Merzouga grew into something much bigger. Hassan and his family worked tirelessly to build Morocco Moujane Tours into a registered, professional tour company — one capable of guiding travelers not just through the desert, but across the whole of Morocco.
Giving Back to the Community
Success never meant leaving their roots behind. Today, Moujane Tours continues to support the local Berber nomad families of the desert region, creating work and opportunity for the very community that shaped Hassan’s story.
Our Promise to You
Every trip with Moujane Tours carries a piece of that journey — from nomadic tents to national trails. We don’t just show you Morocco; we share it, the way it was shared with us: with warmth, resilience, and a deep connection to the land.
Hassan is amazing. Super helpful in planning your trip and then a great guide when you get there. He isn’t one of the guides you tolerate just so you know where you are going and get some history but is instead someone who makes the trip more fun. Couldn’t recommend them more!

We made a five day trip from Marrakech to the desert in Merzouga. Everything was organized well and we visited amazing places in Morocco. The best was the camel ride at sunset and the night in the desert camp. Our guide was Hassan and he was very nice and took care of everything. He told us a lot about Moroccan life and culture. The children loved him and had a lot of fun with him. It was an amazing experience and I only can recommend to do this tour with Hassan
