Welcome to Morocco! Your 5-day journey begins at Casablanca International Airport or port, where your private guide will greet you.
If time allows, visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque, the world’s third-largest mosque with a 210-meter minaret, designed by Michel Pinseau. It accommodates 25,000 worshippers inside and 80,000 outside, and non-Muslims are welcome to tour it.
Next, explore Rabat’s landmarks, including the unfinished Hassan Tower, built by Sultan Yacoub El-Mansour, and the elegant Mohamed V Mausoleum, showcasing Moroccan architecture.
In the afternoon, travel to Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural heart, and enjoy free time to explore this vibrant medieval city .
After breakfast, we travel south through Imouzzer to Ifrane, known as Morocco’s Switzerland for its alpine architecture and cool climate. We then journey into the tranquil Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through valleys, forests, and rocky terrain. The area is home to nomadic shepherds and Barbary apes, North Africa’s only monkeys. continuing our getaway to the Sahara, passing kasbahs, palmeries, and nomads along the way. Continue through arid mountains and valleys, stopping in towns like Erfoud until reaching Merzouga, a village near the orange Erg Chebbi dunes. After storing your luggage at a desert camp, ride camels to watch the sunset over the dunes. Spend the night in a desert tent under the stars, enjoying a home-cooked meal with Berber music.
Start the day by capturing a stunning Moroccan sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, enjoy sandboarding before returning to town on camels. Then, we travel to Dades Valley, stopping to explore Rissani through a spectacular gate. Rissani, a market town, has a cattle auction and a “donkey parking lot. Visit a craft workshop in this town. It was a distinct kingdom known as Sijilmassa from the 8th through the 14th centuries. A wealthy caravan route commencing in Mali’s capital Tombouctou and leading to several Moroccan cities such as Marrakech and Fes built a flourishing market there. The market still exists today. It is unique in that it is not a tourist souk, but rather serves the locals. It doubles in size three times a week (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday) when farmers and nomads gather to sell their livestock, vegetables, dates, and other commodities, known as a sight worth (hearing) and experiencing. We’ll have lunch in a Berber town before reaching Todra Gorge, where you can walk through the spectacular canyon. Finally, we end the day in Dades Valley, offering stunning views of fertile landscapes and mountains .
After breakfast, we head through Dades Valley, known for the Way of the Thousand Kasbahs, stopping in Kalaa M’gouna, the “rose city,” for rosewater. We continue to Skoura and Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa,” before traveling to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, we drive through scenic views and Berber communities on our way to vibrant Marrakech for an overnight stay
